Research projects
Aardvark carries out several research projects with leading research institutes
Furrow detection from SAR imagery
Sensors: acoustic 3d sonar and magnetic sensors
Goal: Using centimeter level surface mapping to train ML models to detect furrows in fields
Improving soil classification
Sensors: magnetic, multi-spectral, spectroscopic
Goal: Train an ML model to improve soil classification (adding X10 classes), using SAR, multi-spectral satellite data and ground-truth sensor data
Subsoil mapping with ground penetrating radar
Sensors: Ground Penetrating Radar
Goal: measure the thickness of the different soil layers below the surface of an agricultural field, for better moisture estimation
Levee cavity monitoring
Sensors: Ground Penetrating Radar and magnetic sensors
Goal: Detect cavities forming under levees. Reducing damages and risk of flooding
High frequency time series of soil moisture
Sensors: non-contact thermal, magnetic
Goal: Produce an hourly resolution time series of temperature (and moisture) throughout a field, to improve moisture estimate methods
